A consultation among Environment and Social Development Organization- ESDO and Bangladesh Dental Society (BDS) and Asian Center for Environmental Health was held on 18th January, 2018 at ESDO head office. President, Secretary General and some dentists associated with BDS, Executive Vice President of World Alliance and Director of Asian Center and ESDO team were present in the meeting.
President and Secretary General of Bangladesh Dental Society agreed to announce mercury-free dentistry for children and nursing mother in Bangladesh by June, 2018 through a press briefing in February, 2018. In addition, BDS will also announce mercury-free dentistry in Bangladesh by December, 2018. A new initiative of visiting dental chambers has been planned which will be inaugurated in 28th January of 2018 with the presence of President and Secretary General of BDS and distinguished personnel of World Alliance and Asian Center. Mercury-free dental chambers will be awarded with Certificates at the end of the entire visit program.
