Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association (VOSA) declared ‘End amalgam in children under 15, pregnant and breastfeeding women by July 1 , 2018’

With a view to establishing mercury-free dentistry in Vietnam, Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association (VOSA) has released its declaration to end amalgam in children under 15, pregnant and breastfeeding women by July 1 , 2018 in a national dental conference in Vietnam which was held in April 26-28, 2018. Mr. Charlie Brown, President of the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry joined the conference through a motivational video speech. Some of the dean or vice dean of dental schools in whole country who were present in the conference said that after VOSA’s declaration they would start changing the dental curriculum, they would not teach about how to use amalgam anymore.

Dr. Ngo Dong Khanh, President of Ho Chi Minh Odonto stomatology Association (HOSA), second largest dental association of Vietnam, said that he would released a same recommendation to all dentists in the south of Vietnam. He spent lots of compliments on Charlie’s touching speech. He assured that he would play Charlie’s video to show in his lecture in Ho Chi Minh city. He is promoting mercury free dentistry in Ho Chi Minh city. He also helped to revise the draft declaration at the conference, before the discussion.
