On August 16 (the convention’s 5th anniversary), Minamata Convention on Mercury launched the first Minamata Convention photo contest to raise awareness of the ongoing global concern of toxic mercury.
Photographers from all over the world are invited to participate. The deadline for submissions is December 31st.
The #MakeMercuryHistory Photo Contest features three categories: mercury pollution, the environment, and the people working to phase out mercury.
